History
Established in 2005.
Bursill began in the early eighties, when Ian was gifted a box brownie camera and learned photography alongside his father in a home darkroom. He shot his first weddings in that decade, but it was in 2005 — after covering a friend’s wedding that reignited his love for the craft — that the business took its lasting shape. Over the following 20 years he documented more than 450 weddings, earning the title of WPJA UK Wedding Photojournalist of the Year in 2009 and Best Wedding Photographer in the UK Wedding Industry Awards for the East Midlands in 2012, 2014, and 2015, alongside a global WPJA ranking. Having retired from shooting, Ian now devotes that same eye for authentic moments to Bursill Albums, designing and producing wedding albums direct for couples.
Meet the Business Owner
I spent more than 20 years behind the camera as an award-winning WPJA wedding photojournalist, documenting over 450 weddings and earning recognition in the UK, Europe, and globally. Now retired from shooting, I’ve focused everything I learned in that time on making wedding albums for couples direct. Designing an album is where a wedding day becomes a story — choosing which frames carry the emotion, how they sit together, and how the whole thing reads from first page to last. That’s the discipline I honed over two decades, and it’s what every Bursill album is built on. My priority is simple: to give couples a finished piece that holds the true spirit of their day, made to a professional standard and meant to last a lifetime.
